Beni-duo automatic dosing concept - DEMONSTRATION VIDEO
Pool disinfection without chlorine: automated salt electrolysis
Electrolysis in pool water is the splitting of NaCl, or salt. The advantage of salt electrolysis is that the salt cell automatically produces chlorine, which disinfects your pool water. This means you no longer need to store hazardous chemicals or add chlorine to the pool by hand.
In addition, salt electrolysis produces harmless sodium hypochlorite and destroys harmful chloramines. Together with continuous dosing in small amounts, this prevents eye and skin irritation and eliminates chlorine smell. Chloramines are the main cause of all unwanted effects.
Chlorine is not just chlorine! To understand salt‑water systems, you must realise this: it is not the free (active) chlorine that causes allergic reactions, burning eyes and other unpleasant effects, but the so‑called chloramines. Chloramines are by‑products formed in chemical reactions, mostly between chlorine and urea, and they are made harmless by salt electrolysis, effectively neutralised.
Measuring and correcting pH and chlorine
To ensure clean and safe water, the Beni Twin automatically regulates the pH (acidity) of the water between 7.2-7.6 and the chlorine content between 0.5 and 1.5 ppm
The pH is continuously measured with a pH probe.
Chlorine is measured with a Redox probe for Salt electrolysis. In general, a Redox of 700mV corresponds to 1 ppm chlorine. The redox sensor is covered with a protective layer of gold.
If the pH is too high, the system will automatically dose acid to correct the pH via a peristaltic pump. For a swimming pool of 100 m³, the system will dose approximately 100 ml of acid per day.automatically dose acid to correct the pH via a peristaltic pump. For a 50 m³ pool, you will need approximately 15 to 30 cl of 15% sulphuric acid (= one glass) per day.
Plug & Play - water treatment installation
Both the Beni Duo and the Beni Duo Wifi are fully pre-assembled on a plate. All connections and pipes are already in place, so you don't have to connect anything yourself. Simply place the panel on the return pipe to the pool in a 50 mm pipe. This can be done using the supplied 50 mm rubber straight connections. A bypass is not required.
All accessories for installation and use (probes, calibration fluid, manual, etc.) are included. The normal operating conditions (pH 7.2-7.6, Redox > 700mV) are already pre-programmed into the device.
Benefits of a saltwater system
- The salt electrolysis treatment prevents irritants and chlorine odours.
- The pool water remains in optimal condition around the clock and 100% germ-free.
- No storage of dangerous chemicals that small children could accidentally come into contact with.
- No frequent refilling required as with traditional chlorine treatments, only annual maintenance.
- No “mini-sea” in the garden, only 0.4% salt content compared to 3.5% in the sea.
Disadvantages of a saltwater pool
- pH neutrality of the water:
Saltwater has a highly fluctuating pH value. Therefore, it is particularly important to carefully monitor the pH value.
Our plug and play* systems, whether via WIFIPOOL app or digital control, guarantee continuous pH adjustment, virtually eliminating this disadvantage.
*Also available for self-assembly.
- requires a higher initial investment
However, you will enjoy smoother water and lower maintenance costs.
Wi-Fi or display?
The Beni Duo is available in both Wifi version as Display version .
The Wifi version works via the "WiFiPOOL-app ". The advantage of this solution is that you can literally verify and adjust your water quality anywhere in the world. Using the WiFiPOOL-app and equipment, you can also measure and adjust other parameters of your pool (temperature, level, flow).
The Display version is one of the simplest water treatment devices on the market. You can read the pH and Redox (chlorine) levels on the display. The handy menu allows you to change the preset parameters (language selection, pH and redox setpoint, etc.).
Both devices work in the same way: they continuously monitor the pH and Redox (Chlorine). As soon as one of them needs to be adjusted, the Salt electrolysis and/or pH pump is activated.
