Specifications

  • 50 mm rigid PVC pressure pipe, length 1 m.
  • Max. working pressure 7.5 bar, suitable for higher pump pressures.
  • Recommended upgrade vs 32/38 mm pipes for larger flows and pipe runs.
  • Supports energy-efficient circulation per modern pool and pump standards.
  • Compatible with standard 50 mm pool couplings and fittings; ideal to combine with 63 mm main pressure pipes in larger systems.

This 50 mm rigid PVC pressure pipe is designed for professional pool construction and renovation. With a maximum working pressure of 7.5 bar, the pipe is perfectly suited for modern, powerful pool pumps and frequency inverters, where pipework faces extra loads from higher pressures and variable flows.

Unlike thin-walled or non-pool-rated PVC pipes, this pressure pipe prevents deformation, leaks and premature wear during continuous use. Your installation thus remains safe and reliable, even during intensive filtering, backwashing and higher flow velocities.

Pipe Diameter Choice: Why Prefer 50 or Even 63 mm?

Many existing pools use 32 or 38 mm hoses or pipes, especially with smaller above-ground pools or older installations. While this works in simple, short systems, excessive resistance quickly arises with higher pump capacities and longer pipe runs, leading to reduced flow and higher pump pressure.

For a pool pump with flow rate of 8–15 m³/h, larger pool volume or longer pipe runs with multiple bends, valves and non-return valves, 50 mm pressure pipe is the recommended minimum diameter. For even higher flows or very long pipework, upgrading to 63 mm is often worthwhile, because:

  • Flow velocity in the pipe remains lower, reducing friction losses and pressure drops.
  • The pump can operate closer to its optimal duty point, with higher actual flow and lower energy costs.
  • The overall system is less sensitive to extra resistance from bends, tees, valves and filters.

In short: 32/38 mm suits very compact, simple systems, but for serious pool installations with higher pump capacity, longer pipes and more fittings, upgrading to 50 mm – or 63 mm in larger systems – is strongly recommended for better flow and lower running costs.

Application and Installation

This 50 mm pressure pipe is used among others for:

  • Suction and return pipes between skimmer(s), floor drain and pump.
  • Connection between pump, sand filter and optional heating systems (heat pump, solar collector).
  • Pipes to inlet fittings, dosing systems and other technical components.

Thanks to the standard 50 mm pool dimension, the pipe is compatible with common 50 mm PVC couplings, valves and fittings in the pool sector. For large, energy-optimised installations, main pressure pipework can be 63 mm, with reducers to 50 mm near connection points.
