Specifications
EPDM solar heating is the most economical and ecological method to heat a pool. The sun heats the mat made of fine rubber channels through which the pool water flows. In full sun, an area of 20m² solar heating is equivalent to a 15 kW heat pump.
The sensors have standard connections of 32-38 and 50mm. To direct the water either to the collectors (sun) or not (night, rain, etc.), you can use a manual or motorised three-way valve.
Solar heating is often installed with an automatic control valve and in combination with a heat pump. This saves approximately 2/3 on the heat pump's electricity costs.
Why EPDM?
EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer)
- is waterproof,
- has high elasticity,
- can be used at temperatures between -35°C and 120°C,
- is resistant to weather influences, ozone and UV radiation,
- tolerates salts, bases and acids excellently.
In short, the most durable material for leak-free pool heating.
Lasts up to 5 times longer than cheaper materials on the market. Lifespan of 10 to 20 years.
How Many m² Do You Need?
In the Netherlands and Belgium, we need approximately 30 kW to heat a 50 m³ pool with solar heating, so between 25 and 35 m² of solar heating.
This applies to every type of heating: heating with or without bubble or protective glass. Don't be convinced otherwise, or you will be disappointed.
For all types of solar heating, this surface area is required.
